Hey, I’m Alexis!

I created Adventures & Ales to help others explore the world and drink good beer while doing so! I’ve been to over 1,300 breweries in 43 states, 37 countries—and counting!—so I love to share my adventures and recommendations with others.

Some of my favorite things are drinking craft beer, exploring new places, staying in unique spots, and supporting local. I love to do all of this with my puppy Mosaic who I adopted at the end of 2022. There is nothing I enjoy more than sitting with a delicious beverage admiring a beautiful view!

Originally from Michigan, I am a proud Michigan State Alum and get back up to the Mitten State frequently. I moved to New Orleans after undergrad and lived there for almost 5 years before heading to the Carolinas.

Charlotte, North Carolina is now my home base which allows me to get into the mountains and down to the beach frequently! Also the fact that CLT has a huge airport means I can snag all kinds of cheap flights—all of my favorite things.

When you spot a Bottle Logic x WeldWerks collab in the cooler, you grab it! 💯 This fruity brew was the perfect accompaniment for the hike I did on my way from Bend to Seattle! 🥾 The Mirror Lake Trail in Mount Hood National Forest was 4.3 miles/40 flights up and took about an hour and a half—the perfect way to break up a drive without being too tired (or sweaty 🙃) for the rest of the ride! 🚙 The reflection in the lake was really awesome to see and being right next to Mount Hood was dope 🌋 🍺: Science! My favorite beer stop in Bend was The Ale Apothecary! 🔥 All of their beers are 100% barrel aged, wild fermented, and naturally carbonated 🍻 I had every beer available and they were each fantastic! 👏 I highly recommend checking out The Ale Apothecary and their brews, make sure to plan ahead if you do because they have limited hours & a small taproom ⏰ 🍻: Pear Sauvie @meccagrade barley and rye malts, @sauvieislandhops Crystal hops, and pear juice; Sahalie malted barley & wheat and @goschiefarms Cascade hops, house lactobacillus culture, aged up to 1 year in oak barrels then a month-long dry-hopping in oak barrels; Walking Fish dry-hopped brew transferred onto freshly harvested Crystal hops from @sauvieislandhops; Sahati barley & rye malts with @goschiefarms Cascade hops brewed in a fallen spruce tree; Farmhouse with barley, rye, wheat, and oats aged in barrels 3-4 months, dry-hopped in the barrel, and naturally carbonated with Oregon honey at @thealeapothecary

Coastal hikes are few and far between in the southeast so I love getting to explore them when I travel! ✈️ On the Oregon coast I did Cape Lookout Trail, a 5.3 miles/52 flights up hike with awesome views of the Pacific Ocean & coastline 🌊 It is conveniently located about 20 minutes from de Garde Brewing 😉 I brought along this yummy and refreshing Sour from Cascade to enjoy with the view! 😍 🍺: Honey Ginger Lime 2019 Sour Rye Ale aged in oak barrels and foudres for 10 months with candied ginger and lime zest, infused with fresh ginger, more lime and local wildflower honey from @cascade.brewing
